Explore the historical journey of Belize’s Mestizo community on your visit to the Benque House of Culture in Benque Viejo Del Carmen. This once police station (now turned museum) is the ultimate research center for both the Mestizo culture and the development of Benque Viejo. This government-sponsored museum was opened in September of 2001 and has the support of entities, such as: Cultural & Historical Association of Benque Viejo (CHAB), as-well-as the Community of Artists for Cultural & Historical Endeavors (CACHE).
